BOP1 (Broken Orange Pekoe No.1) is a medium leaf tea from Ruhuna region of Sri Lanka (Ceylon). It is cultivated at altitudes below 2,000 feet and comprises a vast area from coastal plains to the Sinharaja rainforest. The soil, combined with the low elevation of the estates, causes the tea-bush to grow rapidly, producing a long, beautiful leaf. The tea has a strong taste which starts a little bitter and ends with a sweet after taste, it has dark rich color and fresh earthy aroma.

PEK (Pekoe) is a short and curly leaf tea from Dimbula region of Sri Lanka (Ceylon). Dimbula lies between the areas of Nuwara Eliya and Horton Plains where tea is cultivated at altitudes above 4,000 feet. The area is a wet, misty, and subjected to the South-West monsoon rains, with cool and dry winds. These unique conditions of the region produces a rich aromatic forest-like woody scent and the liquor generally has a light golden reddish color and delicate, mellow taste.

This mid-elevation area enjoys both Southern and Nothern monsoon weather conditions, which gives the tea its flavourful full-bodied taste and bright infusion.

OPA (Orange Pekoe ‘A’) is a big leaf tea from Uva region of Sri Lanka (Ceylon). The eastern mountain slopes of Sri Lanka are exposed to the winds of both North East and South West monsoons,  giving it a special character and aroma. It is cultivated at altitudes between 3,500 feet – 5,000 feet. The mid-high elevation area produces a light yellow-orange color, with a fruity note and soft, sweet after taste.
